Product overview

Cefp-T 2.25 Injection is a combination antibiotic injection containing Cefepime Hydrochloride equivalent to Cefepime 2 gm and Tazobactam Sodium equivalent to Tazobactam 0.25 gm. Cefepime is a cephalosporin antibiotic that works by interfering with bacterial cell-wall formation, while Tazobactam inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes and helps protect the antibiotic from enzymatic degradation.

Composition:
Each vial contains Cefepime 2 gm + Tazobactam 0.25 gm (as sterile).

Uses:
For the Pediatric Division, Cefp-T 2.25 Injection may be prescribed for susceptible bacterial infections such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, skin and soft-tissue infections and other serious bacterial infections, when considered appropriate by the pediatrician. Cefepime has established pediatric use in children 2 months to 16 years for several bacterial infections.

How to Use:
Cefp-T 2.25 Injection is intended for I.M./I.V. administration and should be reconstituted and administered by a qualified healthcare professional. It should not be self-administered.

Dosage:
Pediatric dosage is based on the child's body weight, age, type and severity of infection and kidney function. Cefepime pediatric dosing is commonly weight-based; the exact dose and treatment duration for this combination should be determined by the pediatrician. Use only as directed by the physician.

Precautions:
Inform the pediatrician about any previous allergy to cephalosporins, penicillins or other beta-lactam antibiotics. Dose adjustment may be required in children with impaired kidney function. Use in children below 2 months of age should only be considered according to specialist medical judgment, as safety and effectiveness of cefepime in this age group have not been established.
